ZENO® Weather Station
The ZENO® permanent and portable weather stations are the most sophisticated weather stations available in the world today. These professional weather stations are equiped with Coastal's ZENO® datalogger which features our ZENOSOFT® embedded firmware that is simple to operate, and requires only point and click software to download data, change sample rates, and much more. Additionally, our ZENO® datalogger it is capable of reading almost any sensor (analog, digital or serial "smart" sensors), processing the data, then checking and acting on alarms or trigger a relay, perform actions such as opening/closing valves, turning on/off pumps, etc.
ZENO® weather stations can also perform self-tests on sensors, and interface with almost any type of telemetry including: direct cable, off-the-shelf phone modem, leased line modem, short haul modem, one-way radio, two-way radio, satellite, and cell phone. The weather station or groups of weather stations can communicate and be re-programmed remotely via any of the telemetry modes.

WEATHERPAK™ Weather Station
The WEATHERPAK™'s unique self-contained one piece design installs in seconds and makes it the most easy-to-use portable weather station available. The equipment is easy to use and deploy, designed for extreme environments, and can be easily customized to meet your specific needs. The WEATHERPAK™ is a wireless weather station that is perfectly suited for industrial and scientific sites where ease of installation, corrosive resistance, and very low maintenance are primary requirements.
The WEATHERPAK™ weather station is built around a full 32-bit microcontroller and can contain up to one full megabyte of SRAM memory. A real-time clock and hardware watchdog time combined with double o-ring seals and the anti-corrosive aluminum design ensures dependable data, on schedule, in any environment. The entire WEATHERPAK™ system weighs under 35 pounds and fits—with all its sensors—into a small suitcase.

C-5 SAM™ Weather Station
The C-5 SAM™ weather station is our most economical integrated system.
The C-5 SAM™ maintains the ruggedness and ease of use found in all Coastal Environmental Systems weather stations. It comes complete with a sensor head that digitizes the data right at the sensor. This makes the signals impervious to electronic static and radio noise.
A single cable leads from the sensor head to the display electronics, where a built in 4x20 character LCD continually displays all the data. For data storage and graphing with our INTERCEPT™ software, a cable (up to 1000 feet in length) can be connected from the display directly to a PC or Mac. The C-5 SAM™ weather station is used in both portable and permanent installations. (The display must be kept inside. It is not protected against the elements.)

Standard Sensors:
Standard sensors depend on your application. Typical weather station sensorsinclude: wind speed and direction (gust and standard deviation – sigma theta – are calculated), air temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure. ZENO® weather stations also frequently include rainfall and solar radiation. A WEATHERPAK™ can be ordered with just wind speed and direction.
Additional possibilities include soil moisture, soil temperature, evaporation, leaf wetness, visibility, cloud height (ceilometer), present weather, surface ice, water temperature, water level, water quality, azimuth, compass, GPS and more. Power:
ZENO® and WEATHERPAK™ weather stations can run on AC (110 or 220), solar panel and/or batteries. A ZENO® or WEATHERPAK™ can run up to three years on a single battery pack. The C-5 SAM™ weather station runs on 110 or 220 VAC.
Displays:
A variety of displays is available depending on the application and location. The C-5 SAM™ weather station comes with a 4 x 20 character LCD display. An optional large vacuum flourescent screen is available.
Towers:
Towers are available ranging from 3-meter portable towers to 300 feet or higher. A WEATHERPAK™ is most often used on a 3-meter tower.
User Interface/Display Software:
Software to download data is available free with ZENO® and WEATHERPAK™ portable and general purpose weather stations.
Coastal also makes pc-based INTERCEPT™ software, which is available for purchase, to collect, display, archive and share data.
