Instantly set-up a single station or a complete network. No hassles, no licenses required—just site—install and operate!
The URBAN WEATHERPAK® is compact and has the unique self-contained one piece design that installs in seconds (just plug it in) and makes it one of the most easy-to-use weather stations available. Everything is in the single unit: data logger, electronics, sensors and radio!
It is sealed from the environment and mounts on nearly anything, from a simple pole (1.5 inches), rooftop, to a nearby streetlight.
The URBAN WEATHERPAK® measures wind speed, direction, and temperature every second. It uses ultrasonic frequencies of sound to measure the wind speed and direction (no moving parts), a thermistor
bead for temperature (nothing to damage) and the electronics and radio are completely sealed inside the housing. It will compute a running 5 minute average which is accepted as direct input to all known dispersion models. This means the data is maximized to track any airborne substance, smoke, chemical, nuclear and biological. It also calculates the stability class of wind, which has the greatest influence on distribution and concentration of hazardous airborne materials.
Humidity, barometric pressure and gamma radiation sensors are optional.
The URBAN WEATHERPAK® contains a built-in spread spectrum radio, license free, that transmits your data to your base station. Each station can be configured to act as a repeater to extend the reach
of the radio and to add a redundant path to every station so that the data has two ways to get to the base station.
