Coastal's Quick Deployable Air Support Weather Stations can consist of one or many weather stations surrounding the radar or the airfield.

This network system is used to provide weather data to support air operations on a temporary or semi-permanent basis. It is used exclusively by the U.S. Marines for their METMF(R) program. It consists of three WEATHERPAK® 2000 weather stations – two remote and one local.

The local station is set up in minutes after arriving on the scene of a remote or foreign airstrip.The local station measures wind speed and direction, air temperature, dew point, pressure/altimeter/altitude, precipitation, visibility and cloud height. The data is displayed on a local PC and can also be pushed out to a LAN/WAN.

The two remote weather stations can be installed on either end of the runway or taken as far as 800 Km from the site for remote support. Depending on the distance the data will be sent back to the local/command station via either radio (RF) for up to 80 Km or by Meteorburst telemetry for distances greater than 80 Km but less than 800 Km.

The data from the two remote weather stations is a reduced set of data that supplies wind, temperature, dew point, altimeter setting and presence of precipitation. The data from the remotes is displayed via the same PC software and can also be pushed out to LAN/ WANs.
